Telefónica O2 chosen as exclusive telecommunications partner for new media project from PPF media
May 26, 2009
Telefónica O2 Czech Republic is playing a key role in this project. As the exclusive partner, it will not only ensure that the central Futuroom training center and regional Newspoint communication cafes will be equipped with communications technologies and fast internet connections, it is also providing special products like O2TV for news and training purposes.
"The comprehensive and interactive form of their prepared project attracted us immediately. It corresponds with the O2 philosophy precisely," stated Ing. Jiří Šuchman, Director for Public Affairs and Regulation, Telefónica O2 Czech Republic, adding, "With a wide-ranging portfolio of communications technology services, we have the opportunity to implement every level of the project effectively."
The technology that O2 is providing is part of the International Center for Multimedia (Futuroom), helping ensure a high-quality background for regional editors, and enabling the public to use services practically by means of special cafes. The interactive aspect of the cooperation will consist in, for instance, combining the content of newly emerging regional media outlets with www.o2extra.cz, the inclusion of exclusive subsidies from the training center for the O2TV Video on Demand service, and the use of regional media outlets for public education in the fields of the internet and digital television.
As part of this project, top Telefónica O2 specialists from the fields of marketing, communications, IT, and security are prepared to present the latest technologies and share their know-how with editors and the general public. At specialist conferences, training sessions, and seminars, they will also devote time to problems related to security when using modern communications technologies.
