Corporate Responsibility Reports
The main purpose of the Report is to bring the behavior and obligations of Telefónica in the area of Corporate Responsibility.
Telefónica Group has released Corporate Responsibility Report 2008, which were audited and met the requirements according to GRI.
Telefónica tries to be long term active in the areas of environmental protection and corporate social responsibility. This year has become the leading operator in the field of sustainable development in accordance with recognized international Dow Jones Sustainability Index. The Company, according to this assessment, has the best practices in the following areas: risk management, CSR in the supply chain, reduce the digital inclusion, the impact of telecommunications in their countries of operation, business management, progressivism, the fight against corruption and social action. Total group scores improved from 81.4 points to 86 points, which is 28% above the sector average and 5.6 points higher than in 2008. Telefónica under this act from above average in all three areas of CSR: economic in 93 points (31% above average), and environmental 73 points (19% above average), and social 86 points (29% above average).
