Christmas with O2 TV

All O2 TV customers can enjoy an entertainment-packed Christmas. The digital television service is now offering them the Oscar-winning blockbuster Slumdog Millionaire for just one crown through Video on Demand. For the same price they also have the opportunity to try any of the eight additional channel packages for an entire month. For the first time in the Czech Republic, a new service in the form of a Czech version of Eurosport 2 will be available for sport fans.

"With O2 TV digital television, customers can enjoy an abundance of entertainment, films, and sport broadcasts, and not only during the Christmas holidays. For just one crown they have the opportunity to make their December days or nights more pleasant with the movie Slumdog Millionaire. They can also try out any number of additional packages; they only pay one crown each of them for the first month of usage," says Petr Matějovský, Marketing Director for the Residential Segment, Telefónica O2.

Slumdog Millionaire for CZK 1

From December 1, 2009, The Video on Demand service is growing by yet another famous title - Slumdog Millionaire. Until the end of December 2009, all customers will be able to rent this beautiful "fairytale from the slums" for merely CZK 1. This drama tells the tale of a poor, uneducated Indian youth who wins a massive amount of money in a popular television game show. The movie won a total of eight Oscars and was chosen as the best film of 2008.

Additional packages for CZK 1

All O2 TV digital television subscribers now have a great opportunity to really determine which channels are right for them. From November 16 to December 31, 2009, they can get any of eight additional packages for just CZK 1 for the first month. Activation is free. They can try any number, from one to eight additional packages. After the first month, the customer pays the standard fee for each package. If they decide not to use any, or all, channel packages, they can cancel them at any time, with no penalty.

Eurosport 2 with Czech commentary

In October 2009, Telefónica O2 added Eurosport 2 with Czech commentary to its portfolio of O2 TV channels, making it one of the first companies in the Czech Republic to do so. The Czech version is part of the O2 TV Zábava (Entertainment), O2 TV Sport, and Zábava plus and thus replaces the existing English version. Sport fans certainly appreciate the broadcasts from the German Bundesliga.

O2 TV digital television provides customers with a wide selection of television channels, as well as hundreds of films through its own Video on Demand service. In addition to an abundant offer of channels, O2 Tv subscribers can also rent new movies whenever they want simply by pushing a button on their remote control. Another unique service that is especially appealing to the fans of TV serials is the TV Archive. All customers can watch rebroadcasts of all popular Czech serials and the television news for up to seven days following the original broadcast. And of course there is a TV Guide that provides detailed information about the shows and schedules of individual channels.
