O₂ opens a new space for mobile communication

Telefónica O2 is bringing a brand new concept of mobile tariffs to the domestic market. With theO₂ NEON tariffs, customers can call and send text messages whenever they need to according to their selected tariffs, for instance all weekend long or absolutely without limits, without having to pay anything extra. Unlike one-time special offers, they get this benefitfor the entire time that they use the tariff.These tariffs will be available to customers fromMay 15, 2008.

In addition to these benefits, each tariff includes free units that can be used for calling or sending SMS messages at any time, to numbers in all networks. These free units are used automatically only in cases where the tariff's respective benefits do not apply. All tariffs have been prepared absolutely transparently, with prices that include VAT and with uniform rates for calling and for sending messages to numbers in all networks, regardless of the day and time.

"We are introducing simple and comprehensible tariffs that have been conceived in such a way that they address the broadest spectrum of customers and fulfill the current credit tariff portfolio favorably,"says Matts Johansen, Chief Marketing Officer for the Residential Segment, Telefónica O2 Czech Republic, adding, "With the new O₂ Neon tariffs, customers can call and send text messages to 7.2 million mobile numbers in the O2 network and fixed lines within the CR for free. With the top tariff variant, they can even make free calls to numbers in all networks. They can therefore choose the tariff that enables them to call or send messages for free and without limits during the times that they need to do so, for the entire time that they are using the tariff."

The new tariffs have been conceived in such a way that they appeal to all customers with respect to their calling and message delivery needs, from as little as CZK 300 per month including VAT. The top tariff offers free calling to any number at any time with no network or time restrictions for one monthly fee. Unlike other special offers, the benefits are being provided as a standard part of the tariffs. This means that customers needn't worry that these benefits will be gone after a certain amount of time or that they will have to pay extra fees. They can use the benefits whenever they want, even if they still haven't used up all of their free units.

Customers who sign a two-year contract receive the benefits in their full amount, thus to all mobile numbers in the O2 network and fixed lines, and, in the case of O₂ NEON XXL, to all numbers without restrictions. However, those who do not want to be tied down or would rather take advantage of the opportunity to get a new phone for a favorable price also get benefits. The O₂ NEON Basic variant has been prepared for these customers; they can use their selected benefit for a chosen number that they can change easily. The rates for calling and sending messages and the number of free units in the O₂ NEON Basic variant remain the same.

The same offer of new tariffs has also been prepared for entrepreneurial customers and small businesses. "We believe that the NEON XL and XXL will be especially effective for these customers and in terms of price it offers them an advantageous solution for their telecommunications needs,"says Matts Johansen.
