Over 10 million people have visited O2 Shops

The number of O2 Shop visitors has surpassed the incredible 10 million mark. According to Telefónica O2 statistics, this occurred on February 29, 2008, between 17:00 and 18:00. On the same day, the guessing contest that ran in all O2 Shops from January 21, 2008 came to an end. A total of ten visitors each won fantastic prizes: an LCD television and free O2TV for one year.
" Those who visited our shops welcomed the guessing contest with enthusiasm. They certainly enjoyed the connection between 10 million and 10 winners. We are glad that we were able to reward their goodwill towards us in this way,"says Luděk Šantora, Sales Director for Retail Outlets,Telefónica O2 Czech Republic, adding, "The months of January and February are normally the weakest in terms of sales. According to data analysis, however, this year our shops greeted more visitors than usual. Thanks to the contest we were able to maintain a stable number of visitors."
All O2 Shop visitors had the opportunity to enter the contest by filling in and submitting a contest entry form with their answer to the contest question: "How many visitors in total entered O2 Shops from 08:00 on January 2, 2007 to 18:00 on December 31, 2007?" Only 5% of the guesses came close to the correct number, which is 8,428,837 visitors. The ten entrants with the closest guesses won a Philips LCD television and a free one-year subscription to O2TV digital television.
"We are very happy with the prizes. I've entered several contests, but I've never won anything. Now I've finally won. And what great prizes: a new television set and a whole bunch of channels and films. Our whole family is thrilled. We have been using O2 services for a long time now and we are completely satisfied with them," says one of the happy winners, Mrs. Jarmila Klefersteinová.
Over the course of the contest, more than 1.5 million visitors entered O2 Shops. Telefónica O2 opened another new shop on March 17, 2008, in Třída T.G.M. in Karlovy Vary.
