Operators at the new 14141 line most frequently help with Internet connections

Since February 1, 2008, the toll-free technical support line at 800 184 084 has been supplemented by a special line at 14141, which focuses specifically on the area of the configuration of personal computers and data devices. The singular 14141 line for the settings of the wide-ranging portfolio of O2 data services is intended for users of fixed as well as mobile services.

At the toll-free support line at 800 184 084, operators confirm whether settings are correct on Telefónica O2's side. If they identify a problem in the configuration of the customer's PC or other device, they refer them to the paid assistance service at 14141. In matters concerning the configuration of their PC, modem or mobile data devices, or data telephone for connecting to or using the Internet, the customer thus does not have to resort to ordering the services of IT specialists, whose services can amount to hundreds of crowns. The new 14141 line offers them a very inexpensive and convenient alternative, for which they pay merely CZK 6 per minute with VAT for calling an O2 number. The waiting period for getting connected with a member of the help line staff is free and every customer is automatically informed of the rate they will be charged before beginning their conversation with an operator.

Specially trained staff members at the 14141 line are capable of simulating problems and finding individual solutions progressively while providing assistance and resolving requests. They are available daily from 08:00 to 22:00.

" Adding the service of a toll-free technical support line is the next step in our endeavors to continuously improve the quality of our customer care lines. For this special area, we chose a number that will be easy for our customers to remember,"says Stanislava Fletcher, Executive Director for Customer Care, Telefónica O2 Czech Republic.

During the first month of the line's operation, callers were most interested in getting assistance with setting up Internet connections using CDMA, ADSL, WiFi, UMTS, and GPRS, assistance with email settings and access, and assistance with configuring their PCs and connecting to the Internet. There were also frequent queries regarding the functionality and possibilities of hardware (modems, mobile phones, and other data devices), and regarding data phone configuration (WAP, MMS, video, email, and O2 Navigation).
