Personnel change in the position of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Telefónica O2 Czech Republic

At its meeting today, the Board of Directors of Telefónica O2 Czech Republic, a.s. has taken into account the resignation of Mr. Jaime Smith Basterra from the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Company. This planned step will be followed by Mr. Jaime Smith Basterra's transfer to the Supervisory Board of the Company to replace Mr. Peter Erskine. Mr. Jaime Smith Basterra, who has been holding the position of Chief Executive Officer of O2 Germany since July 2007, remains a member of the Board of Directors until his resignation from membership in the Board of Directors is discussed by the Supervisory Board of the Company at its upcoming meeting to be held in February.
Upon unanimous election, the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors of Telefónica O2 Czech Republic, a.s. will be held by the existing member of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer of Telefónica O2 Czech Republic, a.s., Mr. Salvador Anglada Gonzalez.
