Banner advertising on O2 Active – a new efficient advertising format

From 1 st February 2008, the O2 Active mobile portal, the only one in the Czech Republic to provide customers with information in their mobile phones entirely free of charge, brings a brand new opportunity for advertisers to advertise in mobile phones. Starting from February, advertisers will be able to address their potential customers through banners placed on the O2 Active mobile portal. In addition to that, till the end of March, all persons interested in this new format of interactive advertising can try it out at one tenth of the standard price only.
The main benefits of advertising in mobile phones include, in the first place, a high click rate, excellent targeting of specific customer groups and, last but not least, an opportunity for customers to respond immediately from their mobile phones. Depending on the focus of the particular sections of the mobile portal - and thus depending on the specification of their visitors, an advertising banner can be placed in a targeted way on the relevant pages only. Moreover, if the advertisement is relevant to the content of an entire section of the mobile portal, it is not perceived by customers as a disturbing element. In particular, the advertisers planning to support their sales by short-term advertising campaigns will appreciate the opportunity for customers to respond immediately directly from their mobile phones - i.e. from the pages of advertisers, users can send e-mail, a text message, reply to a brief survey or call an info line. This can be offered by no other medium so far.
"The O2 Active mobile portal contains all of the most popular Internet pages and portals, which makes it a full information channel offering many opportunities also for entrepreneurs to address their potential customers. At present, this way can be used to address more than 500 thousand unique users, and we can expect that this number will grow still further,"says Jan Karas, Marketing Director for Residential Segment of Telefónica O2, and adds: "As against the classic advertising formats, mobile advertising provides advertisers with a much greater degree of interactivity and virtually immediate feedback."
The success rate of the particular campaigns can be verified easily based on statistics regarding the number of displays, feedback rate or quantity of messages sent or calls made by customers in response to any particular offer.
The O2 Active mobile portal is aimed at providing information and entertainment, enabling customers to access plentiful information directly in their mobile phones. Just with their mobile phones and the O2 Active mobile portal, users can anywhere, anytime and entirely free of charge read the up-to-date news, find contact details of companies and authorities, find out about the current traffic situation or weather forecast, check the programme of the nearest cinema, find the timetables of trains, buses and of the public transport and plenty of other useful information.
