O2 supports new music talents
17.1.2008
As part of its sponsoring strategy, Telefónica O2 Czech Republic decided to support new music talents, and therefore recently went into cooperation with RGM music publisher that represents new bands - AIRFARE and Toxique and a very promising singer L.B.P.
On this occasion, Telefónica O2 prepared for its customers a special offer providing exclusive content services aimed at these artists. From 20 January 2008 you will be able to download real ring tones and wall-papers of all three performers from O2 Active portal.
"We have been regularly supporting various kinds of music projects. Now we have decided to focus on new young talents and support them in the beginning of their music careers. Our customers will benefit from that too, because we will regularly offer to them exclusive mobile content services and thus enrich their mobile services",saysTomáš Dufek, Manager for Sponsoring and Interactive Partnerships of Telefónica O2 Czech Republic.
Their popularity is rising, which is unambiguously demonstrated by nomination of both AIRFARE and Toxique to the Best New Artist award in the Óčko 2007 Music Awards contest. Moreover, L.B.P. and Toxique take part in the international Eurovision Song Contest where they will try to attract TV viewers, who can send them with their votes to the world final in Serbian Beograd.
L.B.P.
This singer with a charming soul voice mixes various genres from R&B, rock, soul to electronic music and even makes excursions to the world of classic music. The Story of Life single from the singer's first album of the same name has been used as the main melody of an American independent film Breathful. Her second album composed entirely by herself will be released at the turn of February and March 2008.
AIRFARE
The sound of this band is very specific and original. Live rock'n'> roll shows are mixed of a sharp guitar sound, catchy melodies, very specific and lax way of singing of Thomase J. Lichtaga with a vocal support by other members of the band. The band's performance is influenced by many famous musicians such as Iggy Pop, Lou Reed or The Strokes.
TOXIQUE
Songs performed by Toxique cross over all music genres. Their music mingles between retropop, souljazz and grooverock. The band's work is inspired especially by Stevie Wonder, Amy Winehouse, Gwen Stefani, John Mayer or bands as Moloko or Morcheeba.
