An ICT solution for everyone

15.1.2008

Telefónica O2 is offering its customers convenience, efficiency, and financial savings with its Managed Services. State-of-the-art technologies that were previously accessible only to major corporate clients because of their high costs can now also be used by smaller businesses and entrepreneurs thanks to this new concept.

Managed Services is a group of services that covers the entire ICT sector, from computer networks, and computers through voice services to hosting. These services are provided at a professional level with the use of the latest technologies and a guaranteed level of service. This enables customers to react flexibly to market demands and relieves them of limits imposed by their own equipment. At the same time, it provides comfort in the sense that they do not have to worry about technical security because all activities are carried out and guaranteed by Telefónica O2.

"A growing number of individuals and firms, from small to truly large, are aware of the importance of effective usage of all resources required to run a successful business. We are not only talking about the allocation of material resources, but primarily about human resources. That is why we are introducing the concept of Managed Services to the market, in order to provide customers with more space, increase their flexibility, and, most of all, maximize the effectiveness of their IT activities. Managed Services are divided into three groups: communications, IT security, and IT infrastructure," explains Zdeněk Kaplan, Executive Director for the Development of Business Services and Solutions, Telefónica O2.

The Managed Services platform is a comprehensive ICT solution covering all the needs of the user. During the development of this concept, emphasis was placed not only on the use of the latest technologies and processes, but also on the option of customization according to the individual needs of the users. The customer only purchases the services that they truly need and pay only for what they actually use. The extent and parameters can be adjusted in accordance with actual needs; therefore, it is not necessary to make long-term plans for operational reserves. Thanks to considerable flexibility, it is also possible to react easily to non-standard requests that would otherwise require unnecessary one-time investments to solve. The entire platform is constructed in such a way that it should simplify the lives of all those who are interested in modern ICT solutions, and help businesses use their resources more effectively.

Managed Services will be introduced to the market gradually. The first service that Telefónica O2 is offering is O2Managed Hosting. This consists of three component services. Managed Data Storage offers storage space for hundreds to thousands of GB of data, which the customer can access whenever they need to. Managed Server Hosting provides computing power for which the customer also receives an administration system. If the customer is concerned about losing data, Managed Backup & Restore is a simple data backup solution.

The offer in other areas will be just as extensive; their complete launch will take place in the first half of 2008, together with the fact that other new services will be introduced in accordance with market demands.
