Eurotel Customers Can Make PC Calls
Prague, 3rd March 2006 – Eurotel launched Eurotel Web Video calling service providing contract customers as well as customers of pre-paid services with the option to make video calls even though they do not have a handset enabled for this service and in areas that are not currently covered by the UMTS network signal.
Eurotel as the only operator in the Czech market has been offering video calling to its customers since the beginning of last December. Customers need just an active Eurotel SIM card and a UMTS enabled mobile telephone to make video calls. Starting from 1st March 2006, customers can make video calls also from their PC. Eurotel Web Video calling service now gives the opportunity to make video calls also to the customers who do not own a UMTS enabled handset, or find themselves in areas not covered by the UMTS network at the moment.
" In cooperation with Český Telecom we give our customers another option for making UMTS video calls. Customers who do not have a mobile video telephone at the moment can install a simple free of charge application to make video calls," says Stanislav Kůra, Chief Strategy and Product Development Officer of Eurotel Praha, spol s.r.o., and he adds: "This service is a clear example of fixed and mobile convergence. Customers interested in making video calls from their PC will find O2 Internet Expres service provided by Český Telecom, i.e. broadband ADSL Internet access, the best option."
All that customers need to make video calls from their PC is an active Eurotel SIM card and active Eurotel Web Video calling service; the service can be activated free of charge by an SMS with text WEBVIDEO A sent to number 999111, or by calling the automated response system at *11. Eurotel Web Video calling application can be downloaded for free from the following website www.videovolani.eurotel.cz, immediately after customers install the application, they can start making video calls.
Received PC video calls are free of charge with Eurotel Web Video calling service. Outgoing calls are subject to the same rate that applies to outgoing video calls made from a mobile handset in the Eurotel UMTS network - i.e. CZK 1/min. including VAT representing the lowest price in the market.
