Eurotel Introduces Lower Prices on Mobile Phones
Prague, January 27th, 2006 – From February 1, 2006, mobile handsets and modems from Eurotel are up to 30 % cheaper. At the same time, Eurotel is expanding its range of mobile phones for customers of pre-paid services – now, instead from the six Go sets, they can choose from the whole portfolio of mobile handsets from Eurotel.
February - the month when prices plummet
Eurotel is reducing mobile phone prices from February 1, 2006. The average reduction within the portfolio will represent almost CZK 500, while price of the popular model such as the Nokia 6020 will go down by 17% on CZK 900 compared to January, to current CZK 4 295. Prices of UMTS handsets will fall as well. For instance, the Nokia 6680 can be obtained for CZK 10 495 providing customers a 13% discount and saving of CZK 1 500. The price reductions extend not only to a majority of the handsets, but also to modems. For instance, AnyData modem for high-speed internet connection will be 30% cheaper from the beginning of February.
"We are taking the opportunity to pass on savings to our customers which we gain from our leadership position and as part of the Telefónica group," says Andrei Marc Torriani, Chief Commercial Officer responsible for Residential and Small Business Sales, Eurotel Praha, spol. s r.o.
All mobile handsets for Go customers and up to 10% price reductions
Moreover, Eurotel will shortly revamp its range of mobile phones for customers of pre-paid services, giving them more choice. The "big" Go sets which combine a mobile handset and a SIM card are being phased out. Starting from February 1st, 2006, customers can buy a SIM card with CZK 50 credit for CZK 245 and can choose the handset from the whole range of mobile phones from Eurotel. If the customer buys the SIM card and the handset together, the SIM card will cost only CZK 200.
"We decided to offer more choice to our Go customers in choosing a mobile telephone. From now, they are no longer limited in their options - they are free to choose any handset from our portfolio based on their needs and budget," said Andrei Marc Torriani, Chief Commercial Officer responsible for Residential Sales, Eurotel Praha, spol. s r.o.
