ČESKÝ TELECOM IS THE MAIN PARTNER OF THE ZLÍNS CHILDREN’S FILM FESTIVAL
15.5.2006
This year O2 Internet Expres from ČESKÝ TELECOM is the main partner of the 46th annual International Children’s Film Festival, which is taking place from May 28 to June 3, 2006 in Zlín.
This year the program of the traditional film festival also includes events in other Czech cities – Prague, Brno, Ostrava, Otrokovice, Valašský Klobouk, and Horní Lideč. During the week-long festival more than 400 films for children and youth, divided into seven competitive and a few non-competitive categories, will be shown, and there will be dozens of accompanying events.
In addition to the partnership itself, ČESKÝ TELECOM is the co-organiser of Children’s Day festivities in T.G. Masaryk Square in Zlín, which are taking place in the scope of an accompanying program on June 1. A fun-filled program has been prepared for children. During the entire duration of the film festival the O2 Internet Expres Double Decker, which features an Internet café, will be present in Zlín. Also sponsored by ČESKÝ TELECOM, an international competition called the Joy of Creation (Radost Tvořit), featuring art created by visually impaired children, will take place in Zlín on May 29.
In addition to the program of films, the organisers have prepared a wide range of talks, workshops and professional events for the specialised and general public. Overall, this year’s festival is being held in the spirit of the upcoming celebration of the 70th anniversary of the famous Zlín film ateliers, which Jan Antonín Baťa founded in 1936.
Along with stars of Czech film, Pierre Richard and representatives of two popular detective serials –Schimanski and Moullin – will take part in the festival.
