DYNAMIC O2 Internet Expres CAMPAIGN INCREASES INTERNET CONNECTION SALES BY 100 %
4.4.2006
In total, during two months of the progressive “4X FASTER INTERNET” campaign, nearly 70 000 customers ordered new services with increased speed. To this day, ČESKÝ TELECOM has already installed 80% of these orders. In comparison with the same period in 2005, interest in ČESKÝ TELECOM’s broadband Internet services has grown by 100%. In comparison with 2005, the number of installations has risen by 90%.
On average, ČESKÝ TELECOM takes over 8 000 orders per week; a record number of orders was set during the 10th week, when the operator took almost 10 000. A record number of installations was set during the 11th week of this year, when the company carried out 10 000 of them.
In addition to growth in the number of localities and clients, a recent survey of subscribers attests to the popularity of broadband connections. The survey indicated that customers who have broadband Internet at home spend an average of nearly 14 hours a week using it. On the other hand, residential users with dial-up Internet connections surf the Internet for an average of only four and a half hours a week. Both of these groups use the Internet primarily to send email (92%) and search for information (98%). With regards to the current connection speed acceleration, ČESKÝ TELECOM representatives expect an extreme rise in the use of computers and the Internet as a proper multimedia instrument to take place in the near future because broadband connections enable users to listen to online radio stations, watch films and play demanding online games with short response times very comfortably.
About the advertising campaign:
Once again Jan Kraus plays the main role in ČESKÝ TELECOM’s new ad campaign. The advertisement, which viewers could see in various media, informed customers of a four-fold increase in the speed of O2 Internet Expres services, which remained available for their original prices, and of the opportunity to acquire a fixed line for CZK 1 and get a thousand calling minutes free of charge.
