ČESKÝ TELECOM customers can now call abroad at more favourable rates by using the Xcall service. During April weekends and the Easter holidays, they can call five select countries for CZK 2.50 per minute while calls to other countries cost CZK 5 per minute. In the long term, calls to other destinations, whose number has risen to 60, are also advantageous.
“I believe that thanks to even more favourable conditions for calling abroad our customers will stay in touch not only with friends who are nearby, but also who are situated anywhere,” stated Simon Burckhardt, Executive Director of Sales and Marketing, Residential segment.
Special calling rates apply to the following countries:- Germany, Poland, Austria, Slovakia, Spain for CZK 2.50/min without VAT
- China, Croatia, New Zealand, Russia, The Ukraine for CZK 5/min without VAT
ČESKÝ TELECOM introduced Xcall to its customers for the first time in 2000. When the service was first put into operation, it could be used for calling 13 countries. In 2003 this number rose to 34 countries. Today customers can use the service to make cheaper calls to 60 countries (as of April, the list includes Argentina, Armenia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Georgia, India, Indonesia, SAR, Kazakhstan, Macedonia, Moldova, Monaco, Pakistan, Romania, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam).
It is not necessary to order or activate the Xcall service. It is free to access and very easy to use. It is also available 24 hours a day. Simply dial the prefix 970 and then dial the number you wish to call in the same way that you would when making a regular international call. This is an example of how to use the service when making a call to Germany.
