ČESKÝ TELECOM’S NEW PAYMENT BUTTON SIMPLIFIES PAYMENT FOR TELECOMMUNICATION SERVICES
6.2.2006
ČESKÝ TELECOM, a.s. now enables its customers to pay for telecommunication services on-line through its e-account application. A new function, called the Payment Button, offers all clients who use ČSOB’s Electronic Banking the opportunity to make on-line payments. In 2006, ČESKÝ TELECOM plans to expand the new function to include the Internet banking applications available through other banks as well."The new functionality of the Payment Button provides our customers with another opportunity to pay for telecommunication services easily and without cash from, for instance, the comfort of their living rooms," says Martin Žabka, Press Spokesman, ČESKÝ TELECOM.
Usage of the Payment Button is very easy and after one click, the user is transferred to ČSOB’s Electronic Banking, where they log in as they normally do. After logging in, a filled in payment order is displayed and the user simply needs to confirm it. The entire transaction takes less than a minute. It is possible to edit the amount that is to be transferred on the pages of the e-account application. As a standard, however, the amount is automatically filled in according to the relevant invoice for the statement for telecommunication services.
Setting up and operating the service are free of charge, the user only pays a standard transaction fee to ČSOB for using its Internet banking service. When installing the new function, a great deal of emphasis was placed on security; the application is safeguarded by means of https:// protocol, which protects outgoing data against abuse.
Apart from the new Payment Button function, the e-account service offers the customer the opportunity to monitor their statement for telecommunication services at any time and from any computer. On the Internet, the customer can monitor their calls over the course of the billing period, obtain a detailed statement of the calls from the last two billing periods or carry out graphic comparisons and data analyses. The e-account service is provided for free to all ČESKÝ TELECOM customers who do not use paper billing.
It is possible to order a fixed telephone line through the Internet at www.telecom.cz, by calling 800 123 456 toll-free, and in Telepoint, Telepoint Partner and Eurotel branded sales points.
