Voice over Internet Protocol. This refers to calls when part of the connection is carried out via the Internet. The voice is transferred to data sequences and they are transmitted via high-speed data links, which are used for the Internet. Unlike a regular connection, when the entire line is used for one call, during Internet calling the transmission capacity is also used for regular data or even other calls.
