How to send SMS and MMS messages
Roaming tariffs and prices
The rates for calling, sending SMS and MMS messages, and receiving calls while abroad are based on your roaming tariff.
- O2 Eurotariff - unrivalled prices for texting in the EU
- O2 Smart Roaming - receive calls for free, with the lowest calling rates in holiday destinations
Roaming tariffs are valid for O2 tariff and prepaid customers.
Receiving calls
The fact that you are abroad does not matter to the person who is calling you – they dial the number in the format they are used to (i.e. a nine-digit number or with a prefix).
- the caller pays the regular price
- you pay a part of the fee for an incoming call based on your roaming tariff
- with the O2 Smart Roaming tariff you pay for incoming calls after you have used up 30 free minutes
If you use a prepaid card, the price of the incoming call will be deducted from your current credit.
