While abroad
For prepaid cards
Regular voice roaming is preset on all O2 karta (prepaid SIM cards). You can make and receive calls regardless of where you are calling from and who you are calling.
What you need to know
- with a prepaid card, most of the time you can use the regular method with the international format
- the minimum amount of credit required to use O2 Roaming is CZK 30
Some countries and operators require prepaid card customers to dial the code *101*+420 XXX XXX XXX#. A list of countries in which you can call without using a special code is presented at the bottom of this page.
Roaming tariffs
The rates for calling, sending SMS and MMS messages, and receiving calls while abroad are based on your roaming tariff.
- O2 Eurotariff - advantageous for travelling in Europe, selected automatically with the activation of O2 Roaming
- O2 Smart Roaming - especially beneficial in holiday destinations, with 30 free minutes for incoming calls
When you turn on your phone, you will see your current amount of credit, the maximum length of a call with this credit, and the name of the local provider. When you finish a call you will receive an SMS informing you of how much credit you have left.
Recharging your credit while abroad
To use prepaid services while abroad you need to have a minimum of CZK 30 worth of credit. You can find out the current status of your credit for free by dialing the code *104*#. When you are abroad you can recharge your credit in the following ways:
- recharging with a coupon purchased in the Czech Republic
- calling the Customer Care Center at *101*+420 720 720 720#
(charges for an outgoing call from abroad apply) - via internet banking
- via O2 GSM Banking
In one month you can carry out up to 20 transactions or charge up to 10 phones from one bank account based on the limit your bank has set.
