O2 setting up Madonna’s connection with the world
Aug 6, 2009
The Queen of Pop is performing in Prague on August 13, but already from this week ten employees from the Operations and Site Maintenance department of Telefónica O2 are preparing a telecommunications setup at the Natural Amphitheater Chodov.
Telefónica O2 has the task of setting up communications for Madonna and her entire team. Based on their requests, the following will be available at the site of the concert:
- 24 phone lines with direct dial, keypads, and call waiting
- 10 analogue phone lines with tone direct dial for faxing
- 14 DSL lines with speeds of 8Mbps/512kbps, including modems
"We have plenty of experience providing telecommunications services for major events like concerts, festivals, and sporting events. For instance, we provided this service for this year's Davis Cup, and at O2 Sázavafest in Ostrava," says Petr Slováček, Vice-President of Operations, Telefónica O2 Czech Republic, adding, "But I must add that there's no point in writing or calling us - we are not giving out Madonna's phone number!"
