New generation mobile network expanding to other regional towns
Jun 22, 2009
Telefónica continues to expand its UMTS/HSDPA coverage of the Czech Republic at an increasing tempo. After Pilsen and Ostrava, the residents of České Budějovice, Olomouc, and Ústí nad Labem all now have the opportunity to enjoy the new generation mobile network with high-speed data transfers and the fastest mobile internet. A special, very favorably-priced offer for a mobile internet connection has been prepared for customers in the newly covered towns, and will begin June 22.
"After Prague, Brno, Pilsen, and Ostrava, we are now launching our new generation network in three locations at once for the first time. We are thus increasing the accessibility of the 3G signal, but we are also increasing the tempo of extending coverage. With this step we are keeping our promise to offer all the benefits of high-speed mobile internet to the residents of as many Czech towns as possible. In addition to this, we are currently offering the fastest mobile internet on the market for just CZK 600 with VAT per month," says Jan Karas, Director of Segment Marketing, Telefónica O2.
Special offer of mobile internet
From June 22 to August 22, 2009 a special promotional offer will be available in České Budějovice, Olomouc, and Ústí nad Labem, where a discounted mobile connection has been prepared for the residents of each town. They simply need to activate O2 Mobile Internet and for CZK 600 with VAT per month, they can use full-value internet on their notebooks and netbooks wherever and whenever they want. They save CZK 150 per month. With the signing of a 24-month contract, they can also get a new data modem in the form of a compact USB stick for merely one crown. The standard price of this modem is CZK 1,895 with VAT.
The most advantageous way for customers to get O2 Mobile Internet is through the new structure of household services. In the event that they already use O2 Internet at home, they can get a mobile connection for merely CZK 150 with VAT per month.
Telefónica O2 is currently the only operator on the Czech market offering its customers a mobile connection with the highest transfer speeds - up to 3.6 Mbit/s. Within two years, customers can look forward to this speed increasing to up to 7.2 Mbit/s. Thanks to the new generation mobile network, users can thus connect to the internet and browse web pages, download and send emails, and stream much faster than they can in other networks.
