O2 brings a new generation mobile network along with the fastest mobile internet to Ostrava
May 15, 2009
After Plzeň, Ostrava is the next town in which O2 is launching a new generation mobile network. Customers living there can finally enjoy all of its benefits, especially fast data transfers and the fastest mobile internet on the Czech market at this time. They can get this for a special price that has been prepared especially for the town's residents. They can get mobile internet on its own for 600 crowns; in combination with ADSL internet for their homes, they can get the service for just CZK 150 per month.
"By launching a new generation mobile network in Ostrava, we are keeping our promise to cover this Silesian metropolis. In addition, we are offering what is currently the most advantageous mobile internet connection on the market," said Jan Karas, Director for Segment Marketing, Telefónica O2, adding, "Just like when we launched this network in Plzeň, here we are also working in cooperation with the Town Magistrate and preparing a special offer in order to simplify communication for handicapped people with specific needs. As part of our philanthropic strategy, we are thus using technology to provide help where it is most needed."
Unique full-value internet thanks to fast data transfers
The new generation network offers customers the opportunity to use full-value internet on their notebooks and netbooks anywhere at any time. They simply need to pull a small USB modem the size of a common flash disk out of their pockets in order to go online at speeds that correspond with regularly accessible WiFi networks immediately. Customers can thus download, for instance, a favorite song in one minute, and regular web pages take mere seconds to load.
Special offer for Ostrava
A special promotional offer will be available in Ostrava until the end of May, enabling all of the town's residents to enjoy a discounted mobile connection. Everyone who newly activates O2 Mobile Internet on its own will pay only CZK 600 including VAT. Therefore, they save considerably in comparison with the regular price. However, as part of the new structure of household services that Telefónica has been offering since the beginning of this week, customers can get O2 Mobile Internet for an even more favorable price. If they are using, for instance, O2 Internet at home, they can get O2 Mobile Internet for the discounted price of merely CZK 150 per month with VAT.
With the signing of a 24-month contract, customers can also get a new item in the operator's data modem portfolio - a compact USB Stick modem - for just CZK 1. Its regular price is CZK 1,995 including VAT.
