How can I order O2 TV?
Setting up O2 TV requires a fixed phone line. You can submit your order through the O2 TV website by clicking the Confirm availability and order link on the right side of the page. You can also order it by calling our toll-free line800 02 02 02, or by visiting an O2 Brand store or an authorized vendor of Telefónica O2 Czech Republic.
Do I have to order O2 Internet ADSL in order to use O2TV?
The O2 TV service can be ordered on its own with an arbitrary voice flat rate tariff. You will optimize your O2 TV service if you have ADSL internet.
I already use O2 Internet ADSL. If I order O2 TV, does it mean that I might have to have the speed of my current O2 Internet ADSL lowered?
You can have the maximal Internet connection speed that your line allowes and at the same time you can watch O2 TV broadcasts. However it is possible that in some cases the line capacity will not support the full quality of both services. In this case a so-called flexi regime functions – when viewing O2 TV your internet speed will be temporarily limited in order to maintain the digital quality of your television picture is kept. As soon as you turn off your set-top-box, the Internet connection will return to its full speed.
Do I need to have a fixed-line so as to order O2 TV?
Yes, you need to have a fixed-line for the O2 TV service.
Can I use the O2 TV service even if I have Internet from a different provider?
Yes, you can use the O2 TV service even if you have ADSL from a different provident.Howewer it is essential that hey use the PPoE protocol. If that is not case, ask your provider first to change your protocol to PPPoE and then order the O2 TV service. We will supply you with a new modem supporting O2 TV technology in order to use the O2 TV service.
You can also use ADSL from O2. You can choose different speeds – based on whether you wish to send e-mails, download large files or watch TV on-line. For more information click here.
Do I need a computer in order to use O2 TV?
No, you do not need a personal computer in order to use O2 TV. Just a TV set will do, and we will arrange the rest.
How should I order individual channel packages?
First choose the basic package - O2 TV Zábava, O2 TV Kino or O2 TV Sport With one of these packages you can then choose additional channel packages based on your preferences. For an overview of all channel packages check here. Additional channel packages can be easily ordered directly in the O2 TV menu under My services – order section.
What happens if I terminate a 12-mont service contract early?
If a 12-month contract for O2 TV service with an initial advantage of one or more products is terminated prematurely, the customer is obliged to pay the provider:
- A surcharge of the servis price, which is CZK 293.33 excluding VAT (CZK 347.10 including VAT) for every month remaining untill the contract expires, if the customer received installation by an O2 employee at the advantageous price of CZK 1 excluding VAT.
- A surcharge of the servis price, which is CZK 167.58 excluding VAT (CZK 199.40 including VAT) for every month remaining untill the contract expires, if the customer received installation by an O2 employee for the standard price mentioned above in chapter 6 or if the customer used a self-installation package.
Can I order the service without a 12-months commitment? Under what conditions?
Yes, you can. In this case you will be charged a full service activation price of CZK 500 excluding VAT, a monthly rental of a set-top-box for CZK 126 excluding VAT and an installation charge by a technician of CZK 1,510 excluding VAT. The channel package will be charged based on a valid pricelist.
I use O2 Internet ADSL. Will my current modem work with O2 TV?
To make sure that the O2 TV service works properly, you need to get a modem supporting the O2 TV technology, which you can purchase at a special price for CZK 1. A complete offer of end-user devices for O2 TV can be found here.
Can I exchange my current O2 Internet ADSL modem for a modem supporting O2 TV technology?
No, this option is not currently being offered.
What is a self-installation package?
Using the self-installation package, you can install O2 TV without the help of a technician. If you order O2 TV with a self-installation package, you will get the first two films in the Films category of our video library for only CZK 1 (CZK 1.19 including VAT).
What does the self-installation package include?
The self-installation package contains a set-top-box, a modem, installation manuals and all necesary documents.
When will I get the self-installation package?
The self-installation package will be delivered to you by post at the address provided in your O2 TV service order, as soon as it has been confirmed that the service can be set up on your fixed-line.
Where can I order the self-installation package?
You order your self-installation package at the same time you order your O2 TV service.
How much will I pay for the self-installation package?
As part of the self-installation package, your invoice will include the price of a modem (the price depends on the type of modem selected) and postal fees of CZK 99 excluding VAT (CZK 117.81 including VAT). We will also start charging you monthly rental of a set-top-box based on the valid price list. If you order the O2 TV service with a self-installation package, you will get the first two films from the Films category of our Video library for only CZK 1 (CZK 1.19 including VAT).
What should I do if I am unable to self-install the O2 TV service?
First make sure that you have followed the instructions that are included in the self-installation package. You can have a look at an example of service installation in the How O2 TV works section, where you can find a live demo of service control and a demo installation. If you cannot install the service, contact our toll free line 800 184 084. You can also arrange installation by a technician, although in this case you will be charged for the installation based on a valid price list.
What does the installation of the service by a technician include?
Installation of the service entails a complete connection of final devices (modem, set-top-box) and setting up the service. The installation will be carried out by a Telefónica O2 Czech Republic technician, who will arrange a meeting with you by phone.
How long after I order the O2 TV service will it take before the service is installed (connected)?
Based on the accepted order a technical inquiry takes place. If the service can be carried out on your fixed-line a technician will contact you in order to set an installation date. This usually takes no longer than 10 working days.
Is it possible to order a fixed-line connection and O2 TV at the same time?
Yes, it is. A Telefónica O2 Czech Republic operator will inform you if the O2 TV service is available at your residence/adress even without a phone number.
