EDI technology
EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) enables direct interchange of documents in electronic form between computer or information systems which communicate automatically, i.e. with minimum demands on human attendance or without it. So, it is a direct data interconnection of individual applications which are parts of these systems.
For EDI communication it is necessary to set the form and way of arrangement of the transferred data, which then ensures the worldwide uniformity and independence of EDI communication. The platform for EDI are international and national standards. The international format for documents is EDIFACT (standard ČSN/ISO 9735), which describes syntactic rules of construction of messages and codifies approved standard messages, segments of messages, data elements and code lists. EDI communication, an important part of which is replacement of so-far necessary "physical" stamps and signatures by digital signature, is used in many areas such as banking, trade, etc.

VAN is an acronym for Value Added Network. While email means only one-way communication, VAN provides full two-way communication.
The VAN operator ensures transport of undistorted information to the recipient within XML and EDI systems, backup and archiving of data, but it can also act as an independent third party in possible disputes. The operator provides comprehensive electronic mail services for business partners in all locations. Each partner registered in the system has a separate mailbox with the Postbox and MailBox functions. All operations involving preparation and sending of physical mail are done by the VAN operator.

electronic invoicing
Electronic invoicing includes not only electronic sending and/or receiving of invoices, but it automates the entire process of invoicing between the seller and the purchaser. Last but not least it helps the companies to save costs.
The basic condition for electronic data interchange is ensuring of their integrity and authenticity. In practice these requirements are provided by electronic data interchange (EDI) with electronic signature.

Desktop EDI
Desktop EDI is a universal, multifunctional application, which enables automation of management and control of essential work materials simply and economically. With the aid of flexible and powerful architecture it can work either as a separate workstation or in integrated form within an application of the user's internal system. Desktop EDI was developed especially for users with smaller and medium volume of operation in the following variants: Single Trading Partner (communication with one partner) and Multiple Trading Partner (communication with unlimited number of partners).
